Karate

When you hear the word karate, many people may think of martial arts or combat sports, but karate is not just about learning techniques; it is also a discipline that trains the mind. Gichin Funakoshi, who built the foundations of modern karate, studied Zen at Engakuji Temple in Kamakura under the head priest Ekun Furukawa, and learned the teachings of Zen. Resonating with the Zen spirit of Kamakura, you will master the "emptiness" hidden within the forms - join us for a special experience of experiencing the Zen spirit that is the essence of karate in the natural surroundings of Engakuji Temple.

Sustainable Town Walk
with Kamakura student group New Columbus

●Access: 5 minutes walk from the East exit of Kamakura Station on the JR Yokosuka Line
●Participation fee : Free
This "sustainable town walk" will make everyone in the town happy - you, me, and all the animals. We will walk from the area around Kamakura Station, where the atmosphere of the ancient city of Kamakura still remains, to Yuigahama Beach, the first beach in Asia to receive Blue Flag certification, while cleaning up the town.
This time, they have collaborated with New Columbus, a student group that is the pride of the Kamakura area! They will be playing a game called "SHOGO!", which they developed to make picking up trash fun, and will have fun while picking up trash.
Let's regenerate the earth in a fun, healthy way, with everyone's help! There are no borders or language barriers!
Children and adults, those familiar with Kamakura and those new to the city, those who speak Japanese and English, let's work together across barriers to make the world more beautiful!

This is a networking party where you can gain new inspiration by connecting with the people from Kamakura with various activities and participants of the workation program.
The event will be held in a buffet style at Café&Meal MUJI, where lively conversations are sure to take place.
We are also hosting the first-ever Global Program networking party.
The feature of the event allows participants from different generations to interact.
You can join the event either after participation of the sustainable walking event or
just only attending this networking party.
Since English support will be provided as needed during the event, there is no need
to worry about the language barrier!
