About the "Let's become circulators" project
At the "Symbiotic Upcycling Society" Co-Creation Center*1, which is a collaboration between industry, government, academia and the public, we are working on the "Let's become recyclers" project, which aims to realize a recycling-oriented society. As part of this program, Yamaha Motor has launched a mobility concept called the Junkansha, which will be a hub for local resources and connections and promote the activities of recyclers.
"Become a circulator."
*1 A co-creation base for a "symbiotic upcycling society" connected by respect
Led by Professor Hiroya Tanaka of Keio University SFC Research Institute, the research center was selected together with Kamakura City and others for the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) Co-Creation Space Formation Support Program (COI-NEXT) [Regional Co-Creation Field] and was established after being selected as a developmental type in 2021 and a full-scale type in 2023. The center's vision is to create a circular city centered on a new type of citizen called "circulators," and with Kamakura City and Sagamihara City as the main experimental fields, it will promote activities for citizens, universities, companies, and local governments to co-create and realize the necessary POC (Proof of Concept).
